10 ways to increase daily activity

 

  1. Do stretching exercises to increase flexibility before, during, or after taking a shower.
  2. Use the restroom that is further away.
  3. Do alternate leg extensions and bring your feet almost level with your knees when sitting (while watching television, for example).
  4. Pace or walk in place while talking on the telephone.
  5. Park further away and walk or jog to the door.
  6. Take the stairs whenever you have less then three flights to walk.
  7. Do jumping jacks while waiting for your food to heat up.
  8. Go talk to a colleague instead of sending an email.
  9. Sweep, mop, and/or garden daily, or play a game with your children.
  10. Dance to two or three songs in the morning or evening.
